After the police-cauldron and violent early termination and eviction of the Antiracist No-Border Camp (with around 350 arrests) by the police on August 9th, here is an urgent appeal to all campers:
1.) Get medical reports on injuries that were caused by the police or resulted from other conditions of the arrest/imprisonment (e.g. by withholding a place to sleep) as soon as possible!
2.) Document damages to properties that were caused by the police during the eviction of the camp (in writing and with photos) as also missing properties after the combing of the area!
3.) Write detailed
and factual memory-documentations about situations that led
to police-encroachments and about the encroachments themselves! Here some
advice on writing documentations:
- record the exact places and times as far as known;
- record only facts: no suppositions, emotions or personal
estimations;
- no heroic stories, do not make things sound better or worse
than they actually were;
- mention only the names of the authors and people who were
arrested;
- do not incriminate yourself or other campers!
- add name, date, signature, a contact-address and whether
you are prepared to testify or not.
